“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Socialist Party presidential candidate Norman Thomas

We have no one to blame but ourselves for Obama

I found this quote over on Boortz. It's been floating around the Interwebs for a little while and no body's really sure who wrote it but, what difference does it really make? It's spot on....

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The public can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."

The author is exactly right. We can complain about how awful Obama is as President but, how dumb does it make us that we allowed the pernicious media to bamboozle us into voting him into office?

Yep, a little root cause analysis.

A year ago I was deeply depressed over the American voter falling for this guy. Now I feel a whole lot better at the nearly complete change. There will always be the hard core true believers, but they're shrinking in numbers as the "emporer's nakedness" is exposed.

Let's hope the decline of The One continues, no other messianic candidates come along to hypnotize the masses with hopeychange pixie dust and, Americans become a little more wary of promises of transformational change like Obama campaigned on.

It will happen again and again. The seeds of our destruction are sewn into the fabric of society: ignorance and indifference.

The stages of the life of any democracy are cyclic. We are toward the end stages and way overdue. Maybe we'll start the new cycle in our lifetimes and our kids can know what true liberty and freedom smell like. Heaven knows we haven't so much as sniffed it any.

The statement is true however, when you have an unenergized Conservative base, and an energized Liberal base, given the choice of McCain and Obama, this is what you end up with.

The independents are the swing voters who should have known better but that's the nature of the rational, thoughtful center (Sarcasm). They are clueless on politics and swallowed the MSMs narrative hook line and sinker. They are the ones who are finally waking up and regretting the nightmare that they have put the rest of the country through.
