“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

California considers the unthinkable

That Gov. Moonbeam is even a potential winner in the land of nutjobs shows what a messed up state California really is....

From Hotair -- Meg Whitman’s mega-win in Tuesday’s Republican Primary has thrown her into a virtual tie once again with Democrat Jerry Brown in the race to be the next governor of California.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in California, taken last night, shows Brown with 45% of the vote, while Whitman earns 44% support. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and seven percent (7%) are undecided.

With the entire state in union and alien-caused, economic free-fall, you'd think that a wildly successful business woman would be an easy cinch to be the one to pull it back from total catastrophe. That is if it's any state but California where far-left progressives like union thugs, deranged environmentalists, and self-involved actors run things.

Jerry Brown is 27 years removed from his last term as governor. Moreover, he's a career, big-government politician who knows nothing of creating jobs, cutting government spending, or balancing budgets. As such, he represents the status-quo incumbent and Meg Whitman would in any other state except maybe Vermont, be ahead in the polls by large double-digits. If Californians really want to be brought back from the brink of apocalyptic disaster, they'll kick Jerry Brown back to Oakland's office of mayor and let Meg Whitman do the hard work that between them, only she knows how to do.
