“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Empty, meaningless gestures

In the wake of the Connecticut massacre there are many examples of political correctness, particularly where guns are concerned. Here are just a few of the more inexplicable, ridiculous ones.....
  • Dick's Sporting Goods is suspending all rifle sales from all its stores indefinitely and removing ALL guns from its stores that are anywhere near Connecticut
  • The Discovery Channel is cancelling its series American Guns
  • Harvey Weinstein cancelled the Hollywood premier of Django, presumably because there's some shooting in it.
  • The trailer for the new Tom Cruise movie Jack Reacher was edited and the gun scene removed.
Does this sort of empty gesture make anybody feel better about what happened in Connecticut? Does seeing a gun scene in a movie somehow upset people around the country? Does the presence of rifles at a sporting-goods store trigger PTSD among people in California because of the Connecticut shooting? It's idiotic!
