A British company contacted NASA about their plans to project this image onto the moon's surface as an advertisement for their cheese. They asked a nerd, probably wearing a tie with short sleeves, about the physics of doing this.
NASA, being a government bureaucracy and therefor devoid of humor and thinking it was real, fired off many terse e-mails to the company warning of interference with the International Space Station.
Heh heh, what a bunch of idiots!
