“The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of ‘liberalism’ they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.”

Why the GOP will lose the next election

Yesterday on Meghan Kelly's show, neo-conservative and consummate Washington insider, Bill Kristol criticized Rand Paul for being a "neo-isolationist" and said the GOP would never nominate somebody like that to head up the party ticket against Hillary, probably.

This old-school, 1980's, America is the world's beloved policeman, thinking that will lose election after election for the GOP. Bill Kristol and his ilk at leadership levels is exactly what's wrong with the GOP. Reagan was terrific in the 80's, but the world and the US is vastly different than it was then. Clinging to 80's foreign policies of intervention every time there's a ethnic-skirmish in some third-world shit-hole of a country, having our military serve as meals-on-wheels delivery boys, lavishing billions in aid on stated enemies of the US, insisting on deporting 20million illegal aliens, refusing to consider gay marriage and marijuana legalization,  are not ways to win national elections. Those are how you win elections in rural Alabama.

Rand Paul's brand of libertarianism is what conservatives need to gravitate toward if we want to have a seat at the grown-up table when it comes to nationsl-level decision making.
